Your Ballet Company's Upcoming Season
A favorite of mine, from last year.
If you thought our 2010-2011 season was sensational, you've not seen anything yet! The East Appalachian Ballet Company is pleased to announce our upcoming 2011-2012 season. Our new season, which debuts this September, is an exciting blend of local productions—all headed by our award winning artistic director, Geoffrey Jefferson—and special touring shows coming to our area exclusively through The East Appalachian Ballet Company. We appreciated your patronage last season, and hope you'll continue with our new season of shows. Season tickets for all shows are available for the low price of $87.50 per Adult, and $25.97 per child. Additionally, you can save money with the four person ballet fun pass—which gives you four season passes for the low price of $200.
The Beverly Hillbillies—All Weekends in September. C'mon back y'all! For an exciting new stage interpretation of the classic television program. Fresh from its world premiere in Idaho, Wyoming, this three hour show is one of the funniest ballets ever imagined. Renowned Erwin ballet star Bob Johnson will grace our stage once again in the title role of Jed Clampett. Don't miss this one! It features a stunning “Dance of the Cement Pond” that some say rivals Swan Lake.
Geoffrey Jefferson's Romance Of The Vampires—Last two weekends of October. An original world premiere ballet, conceived, written, choreographed, produced, and directed by our very own Geoffrey Jefferson. Geoffrey Jefferson's Romance Of The Vampires is a touching, romantic, story of two teenage vampires. Both searching for love, and understanding, in an unforgiving world. This will be our Halloween show for the year, and features a most promising cast of local high school and college age ballet performers. This two hour show will be presented without an intermission. Note: this show feature sequences with a strobe lite, please be aware if you have epilepsy.
The Nutcracker—First two weeks of December. Once again, for our Christmas show, we will present the timeless Nutcracker. This year, we're pleased to announce the first stage performances by our new tykes ballet group, a program that began earlier this year. This season, our show will feature famous Kentucky ballet performer Carol Ann Wilson. Note: This show is not included in our season pass, due to contractual obligations.
The East Appalachian Ballet Company's 16th Annual Ballet Spectacular and Fund-Raising Showcase—Spring 2012, Dates TBA. Once again, we'll close out our season with our annual Ballet Blowout! While the details are still being worked out, this year's theme will be: “ 'Cuse Me, While I Do This Ballet.” Come for an evening of dance, fun, and generous donations!
We hope you'll join us for another year of dance! Our tickets are on sale, now, and our box office is open weekdays from 9-3, and as always, before each performance. The box office number is 555-BALLET. We close with a word from our founder and director, Geoffrey Jefferson: “Friends of the dance, I hope you'll join us for another exciting year. If I say so myself, this is our finest season yet, and I look forward to seeing you at our shows. As always, Tanz Verdammt!” Don't miss a single show this year at The East Appalachian Ballet Company! Ballet the way it ought to be!
